Tricia Striano

Award winning researcher, Humboltian and Full Professor of Psychology (Cognitive Development and Research Methodology), Tricia Striano is widely published and frequently called upon to lecture around the world. Striano graduated from The College of the Holy Cross and obtained her Ph.D. (Cognition and Development) from Emory University and Habilitation at the University of Osnabrueck, Germany. Recipient of the ’04 Sofja Kovalevskaja Research Prize of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Sancte Crucis Award of the College of the Holy Cross, research grants from the German Research Foundation and the National Science Foundation, Striano served as Head of Cultural Ontogeny Research at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and Head of the Neurocognition and Development Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Center for Advanced Studies at the University Leipzig. Author of over 120 research papers, edited volumes and books including Doing Developmental Research (Guilford Press, 2016) and Social Cognition: Neuroscience, Development and Autism (Wiley-Blackwell, 2009). Striano currently serves on the Editorial Board of Infant Behavior and Development and as a Research Ambassador for the German Academic Exchange.
